फिनलैंड के पूर्व विदेश मंत्री, यूरोपीय संसद European Parliament के सदस्य समेत नेपाल से लेकर अमेरिका तक की हस्तियों ने प्रशांत भूषण Prashant Bhushan के पक्ष में बयान जारी किया है

देश के जाने-माने वकील एवं सामाजिक कार्यकत्र्ता प्रशांत भूषण Prashant Bhushan के समर्थन् में देश और दुनिया भर से आवाज उठ रही है। दुनिया भर के 185 हस्तियों ने प्रशांत भूषण के पक्ष में आवाज उठाया है। प्रशांत भूषण के पक्ष में फिनलैंड के पूर्व विदेश मंत्री और यूरोपीय संसद European Parliament के सदस्य समेत नेपाल से लेकर अमेरिका तक के 54 अंतरराष्ट्रीय हस्तियों ने सार्वजनिक तौर पर बयान जारी किया है।
गांधी शांति प्रतिष्ठानGandhi Peace Foundation के अध्यक्ष कुमार प्रशांत, पर्यावरणवीद रवि चोपड़ा, मैग्सेसे अवार्ड Magsaysay Award से सम्मानित संदीप पांडेय, स्वामी अग्निवेश, डॉ.सुनीलम और प्रोफेसर आनंद कुमार समेत भारत के 131 हस्तियों ने समर्थन किया है। इन सभी हस्तियों ने उम्मीद जतायी है कि सुप्रीम कोर्ट में चल रहे अवमानना के मामले में भारतीय संविधान की भावना के अनुरूप अभिव्यक्ति की स्वतंत्रता और लोकतांत्रिक अधिकारों की जीत होगी। सुप्रीम कोर्ट एवं हाई कोर्ट के कई सेवानिवृत न्यायाधीशों ने भी प्रशांत भूषण के समर्थन में बयान जारी किया है।
-प्रशांत भूषण द्वारा जून के महीने में किये गए दो ट्वीट पर उच्चतम न्यायालय ने स्वतः संज्ञान लिया है। साथ ही अवमानना से ही संबंधित 2009 के एक पुराने मामले पर भी आठ साल बाद सुनवाई शुरू कर दी गयी है।
-अब तक सुप्रीम कोर्ट और हाई कोर्ट के कई सेवानिवृत न्यायाधीशों ने भी प्रशांत भूषण के समर्थन में बयान जारी किया है -सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता अरुणा रॉय समेत 16 सिविल सोसायटी सदस्यों ने माननीय उच्चतम न्यायलय में इस अवमानना के मामले में हस्तक्षेप करने का आवेदन भी दिया था, जिसको अदालत के रजिस्ट्री ने ठुकरा दिया
-इसके अलावा एक अन्य याचिका में अरुण शौरी, एन राम और प्रशांत भूषण ने “अदालत की अवमानना” से सम्बंधित प्रावधान को चुनौती दिया है जिसकी सुनवाई 10 अगस्त को मुक़र्रर की गई है।
